Magno Teixeira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Fábio Leme, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Luís Fábio Leme fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Magno Teixeira having to interfere. Igor Leal hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as S.E Palmeiras's Luís Fábio Leme slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Magno Teixeira. That made the score 1-0 after 17 minutes of play. 20 minutes into the match, FC Internazionale!'s goal looked a bit too open when Luís Fábio Leme came free, but Magno Teixeira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Walmyr Santos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cacá Pitta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 22nd minute, Hílton Trancoso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to FC Internazionale! getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Zé Roberto Pombal hit a great ball. Dito Koehler was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 27th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Alex Velasco kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. If Natã Souza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. João Paulo Cearense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Magno Teixeira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of S.E Palmeiras booed when FC Internazionale! was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dedê de Lima didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cacá Pitta made a kick off. Cacá Pitta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Walmyr Santos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 58 minutes into the game, Luís Fábio Leme cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Magno Teixeira was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. João Paulo Cearense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Magno Teixeira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind S.E Palmeiras's goalkeeper Walmyr Santos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Luís Fábio Leme fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored S.E Palmeiras's protests and gave Luís Fábio Leme a yellow card for diving instead. Natã Souza scored 2-1 in the 87th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Walmyr Santos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Teodoro Cosme kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Natã Souza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 97th minute, Joélson Lima hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Natã Souza could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 99th minute of the match, but Walmyr Santos made a huge save. When the referee ended the match the S.E Palmeiras players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
