The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In a very dangerous position, a player in Muleque de Vila fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 2nd minute. Penalty! In the 10th match minute, Muleque de Vila was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Walmir de Alcântara to maneuver through the defense. When Natanael Marinho came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Muleque de Vila fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Natanael Marinho couldn't finish the play. Walmir de Alcântara hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. After having played for 28 minutes, Natã Souza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Internazionale!'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Natã Souza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 29th minute, Cacá Pitta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Zé Carlos Valadares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cacá Pitta in the 41st minute of play. Zé Carlos Valadares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cacá Pitta in the 47th minute of the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cacá Pitta to make the kick off. Cacá Pitta kicked well hit freekick during the 50th minute of the match. Wilton Trigo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Magno Teixeira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wilton Trigo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Magno Teixeira having to interfere. Muleque de Vila's Natanael Marinho got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Wilton Trigo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to FC Internazionale! getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Zé Roberto Pombal hit a great ball. Wilton Trigo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of FC Internazionale! booed when Muleque de Vila was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Natanael Marinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arí Britto in the 89th minute of play forced Muleque de Vila's goalkeeper Zé Carlos Valadares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Walmir de Alcântara fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Muleque de Vila's protests and gave Walmir de Alcântara a yellow card for diving instead. In the 90th minute, Walmir de Alcântara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Natã Souza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Zé Carlos Valadares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. FC Internazionale!'s supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
