The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Vágner Araújo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Túlio Marinho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 9th minute, Pedro Luís Santos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Deng Yang Ping made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Pedro Luís Santos sent off a good shot on target. In the 15th minute Rui Campidelis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Túlio Marinho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Túlio Marinho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vágner Araújo, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind Shelter's goalkeeper Deng Yang Ping, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 24 minutes into the match, MetalSlug Forever Team's goal looked a bit too open when Rui Campidelis came free, but Túlio Marinho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luís Guilherme Freire received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Deng Yang Ping came out and tried to block the shot, but Luís Guilherme Freire slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 29th minute. MetalSlug Forever Team's Túlio Marinho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vágner Araújo in the 34th minute of play. Pedro Luís Santos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Deng Yang Ping tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 39th minute Rui Campidelis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Túlio Marinho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pedro Luís Santos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Deng Yang Ping having to interfere. Deng Yang Ping came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by MetalSlug Forever Team's Pedro Luís Santos. But to his dismay, Pedro Luís Santos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. When João Adolfo Bezerra came up free with the goalie in the 50th minute, the MetalSlug Forever Team fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that João Adolfo Bezerra couldn't finish the play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rui Campidelis made a kick off. If Vágner Araújo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 63 minutes into the match, Shelter's Rui Campidelis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Túlio Marinho narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Deng Yang Ping stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luís Guilherme Freire's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. Rui Campidelis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Túlio Marinho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Shelter booed when MetalSlug Forever Team was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Luís Santos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rui Campidelis blasted a shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Túlio Marinho having to make a save. After having played for 75 minutes, Rui Campidelis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Shelter's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rui Campidelis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Vágner Araújo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Túlio Marinho. That made the score 2-1 in the 78 minute of play. In the 84th match minute, MetalSlug Forever Team was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Murilo Rezende to maneuver through the defense. Gustavo Tasso fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 90th minute. He almost succeeded, but the ball went over. It was a very nice shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Murilo Rezende during the 92nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in MetalSlug Forever Team's zone, Vágner Araújo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Túlio Marinho came out of the goal and Vágner Araújo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rui Campidelis struck a weak shot in the 98th minute. Túlio Marinho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Shelter. 102 minutes into the match, Shelter's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Guilherme Freire came free, but Deng Yang Ping reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Shelter were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
