Aírton Toledo came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by Fonseca FC's Albertinho Paraibano. But to his dismay, Albertinho Paraibano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. 17 de Novembro's Aírton Toledo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guto Silveira in the 22nd minute of play. The supporters of Fonseca FC booed when 17 de Novembro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andrézinho Cavalcante didn't get a good kick on the ball. 17 de Novembro's Aírton Toledo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guto Silveira in the 25th minute of play. Aírton Toledo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guto Silveira, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Albertinho Paraibano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Aírton Toledo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Andrézinho Cavalcante hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. In the 30th minute of the match Geovânio Linhares sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Aírton Toledo skillfully saved the ball. In the 31st minute Guto Silveira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aírton Toledo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Guto Silveira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Aírton Toledo came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by Fonseca FC's Guto Silveira. But to his dismay, Guto Silveira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. The audience was convinced that Guto Silveira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aírton Toledo was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

After 54 minutes of play, 17 de Novembro's Frédson Quadros made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Reginaldo Almeida was left in no man's land by his defense there! Andrézinho Cavalcante charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Andrézinho Cavalcante the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Aírton Toledo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guto Silveira in the 83rd minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Albertinho Paraibano could shoot a difficult shot in the 84th minute, which Aírton Toledo however easily saved by the left post. Aírton Toledo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Albertinho Paraibano in the 87th minute. Albertinho Paraibano came free with the goalkeeper in the 88th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Aírton Toledo could save by the left post. In the 90th minute of the match, Albertinho Paraibano got a very nice opportunity to score, but Aírton Toledo was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Aírton Toledo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guto Silveira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 93rd minute, Albertinho Paraibano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Fonseca FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
