Juvenal Sena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Natanael Secco, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Juvenal Sena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Noel Montenegro in the 48th minute of play. After the first half FLA-RJ were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After having played for 68 minutes, Carlos Eduardo Batista managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. With a little luck, Rolo Compressor's Juvenal Sena got control of the ball when Clóvis Breckenfeld tried to sneak it across the goal line.
