Qra TOMATE's supporters rose to their feet, but Flávio Madureira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hélder Vinhas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. João Paulo Abraão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Qra TOMATE getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Donato Cearense hit a great ball. After 12 minutes Qra TOMATE's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Samuca Oliveira who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on São Paulo Futebol Clube's corner Samuca Oliveira fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Arnaldo Romero quite easily take care of the ball. After 15 played minutes São Paulo Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Rony Barreto. In the 18thth minute of the game Flávio Madureira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but São Paulo Futebol Clube's Hélder Vinhas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Donato Cearense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hélder Vinhas having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in São Paulo Futebol Clube's zone, Flávio Madureira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hélder Vinhas came out of the goal and Flávio Madureira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 30 minutes, Vinícius da Silva managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. São Paulo Futebol Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vinícius da Silva was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, São Paulo Futebol Clube's Diguinho Lopes got a free kick in the 31st minute. In the 32nd minute Flávio Madureira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hélder Vinhas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 36 played minutes Qra TOMATE got a freekick which was hit by João Paulo Abraão. A hard shot 41 in the game by Flávio Madureira from a close distance when the talented Hélder Vinhas managed to make a qualified save. São Paulo Futebol Clube's players were relieved. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Flávio Madureira in the 43rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hélder Vinhas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Hélder Vinhas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Flávio Madureira in the 48th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Flávio Madureira made a kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as São Paulo Futebol Clube's Rony Barreto slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Arnaldo Romero. That made the score 0-2 after 54 minutes of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Flávio Madureira in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hélder Vinhas saved São Paulo Futebol Clube from getting behind. In the 62nd minute, Donato Cearense got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Flávio Madureira in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hélder Vinhas saved São Paulo Futebol Clube from getting behind. If Rony Barreto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arnaldo Romero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rony Barreto in the 79th minute of play. The Qra TOMATE fans' excitement grew in the 80th match minute when Qra TOMATE's Flávio Madureira looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 83 minutes into the match, João Paulo Abraão had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hélder Vinhas. São Paulo Futebol Clube's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that João Paulo Abraão was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Qra TOMATE's Donato Cearense got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 90th minute, Flávio Madureira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Qra TOMATE getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. João Paulo Abraão hit a great ball.
