In the 14thth minute of the game Umberto Sampaio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but BANGU MG's Jairo Schmidt was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Albertinho Lira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Jairo Schmidt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Toronto Team booed when BANGU MG was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Romeu Almeida didn't get a good kick on the ball. Toronto Team's Dedê Tande played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Romeu Almeida in the 21st minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 24 minutes, Dedê Tande successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 25 minutes into the match, Toronto Team's goalkeeper Dedê Tande had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Anderson Saraiva. Simão da Mata kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. Albertinho Lira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

The wind increased when Umberto Sampaio made the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Albertinho Lira in the 51st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jairo Schmidt prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 56 played minutes Toronto Team got a freekick which was hit by José Palmeira. Dedê Tande didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Anderson Saraiva went, in the 57th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Umberto Sampaio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Simão da Mata hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Dedê Tande stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Romeu Almeida's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. The audience was convinced that Romeu Almeida's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dedê Tande was relentless in the 70th minute of the game. After having played for 77 minutes, Umberto Sampaio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Toronto Team's supporters crossed their fingers, but Umberto Sampaio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
