Edson Ortiz hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Marinopolis's Rogério Siqueira got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Eliseu Sampaio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rogério Siqueira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rafael Penha read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. Nilson Bertassi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rogério Siqueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Trumpho defense, Nilson Bertassi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rafael Penha. The Trumpho fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rafael Penha should have stopped the shot. 34 minutes into the match, Marinopolis's goalkeeper Alexsandro Massa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by André Cabral. Edson Ortiz hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. In the 38th minute Nilson Bertassi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rafael Penha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nilson Bertassi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Eliseu Sampaio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rafael Penha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rogério Siqueira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eliseu Sampaio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rafael Penha read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for André Luiz Machado to strike the kick off in the second half. Trumpho's Rafael Penha proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Trumpho from getting a goal against them. Rafael Penha made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Nilson Bertassi sent off a good shot on target. When Nilson Bertassi came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Marinopolis fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nilson Bertassi couldn't finish the play. With his leg Rafael Penha managed to avoid a goal in the 65thth minute, when Marinopolis's Nilson Bertassi fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 66th minute, André Luiz Machado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Eliseu Sampaio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rogério Siqueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eliseu Sampaio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafael Penha having to interfere. Rafael Penha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nilson Bertassi, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Hugo Valladares kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Alexsandro Massa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edson Ortiz in the 91st minute of the match. In the 96th minute, Andrézinho Pombal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
