A hard shot 14 in the game by Bebeto Teles from a close distance when the talented Roger Teles managed to make a qualified save. Horizontina's players were relieved. Nelson Gaspar's late challenge caught a DragonIce's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nelson Gaspar helped the player get up and apologised. Nelson Gaspar hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Ronaldão Rossi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jarbas Loyola showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Didi Pereira, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. After a rather tough play, Horizontina's Geraldo da Silva got a free kick in the 24th minute. Didi Pereira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bebeto Teles hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Didi Pereira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jarbas Loyola having to interfere. Horizontina's Roger Teles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Afonso Camargo in the 40th minute of play. Angelo Sergipano made in the 43rd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Vânderson Pinho immediately put the ball in play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Flavinho Britto made the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind DragonIce's goalkeeper Jarbas Loyola, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Pedrão Leal kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Leonardo Branco kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Didi Pereira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Jarbas Loyola tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 64 played minutes DragonIce got a freekick which was hit by Angelo Sergipano. Didi Pereira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jarbas Loyola read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. Nelson Gaspar hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. If José Carlos Quadros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of DragonIce booed when Horizontina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nelson Gaspar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jarbas Loyola made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ronaldão Rossi in the 84th minute. Flavinho Britto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Roger Teles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 96 played minutes Horizontina got a freekick which was hit by Didi Pereira. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Horizontina had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
