Edu Dracena stood somewhat misplaced when Nilson Bertassi came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 8 minute. In the 11th match minute, Marinopolis was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Charles Neto to maneuver through the defense. Marinopolis's Alexsandro Massa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matheus Prestes in the 15th minute of play. Nilson Bertassi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edu Dracena having to interfere. Alexsandro Massa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fábio Velasco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eliseu Sampaio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Edu Dracena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edu Dracena made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rogério Siqueira in the 31st minute. Eliseu Sampaio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Black Rovers FC's zone, Rogério Siqueira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edu Dracena came out of the goal and Rogério Siqueira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eliseu Sampaio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fábio Velasco struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Alexsandro Massa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Black Rovers FC. 45 minutes into the game, Matheus Prestes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Black Rovers FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Marinopolis the free kick. A collision led to Black Rovers FC getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Matheus Prestes hit a great ball. Nilson Bertassi in the 47thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Edu Dracena, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luiz Paulo Ramos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Eliseu Sampaio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The coaching staff of Marinopolis protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Arnaldo Borges had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Arnaldo Borges hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luiz Paulo Ramos during the 67th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Nilson Bertassi might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edu Dracena. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nilson Bertassi ran back to his position shaking his head. Edu Dracena didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nilson Bertassi went, in the 70th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Matías Vinhas hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match.
