Sidney de Andrade showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dedé Dionísio, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. The shot was stopped by Sidney de Andrade but with some difficulty. When the match had gone on for 35 minutes, Valdemar Leite took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Sidney de Andrade to make any attempt to save it. If Dedé Dionísio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hélio Quirino to make the kick off. The penalty shot was made by Caco Furtado, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Porteira's Sidney de Andrade. 2-3. In the 95th minute, Hélio Quirino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Porteira players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
