The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. A collision led to Abadia getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Adrianinho Godoi hit a great ball. Malagutti Uai Soccer's Paulo José Berger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sérgio de Salles in the 25th minute of play. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Juvenal Barros managed to get in a good position for a shot. Malagutti Uai Soccer's supporters rose to their feet, but Juvenal Barros was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Daniel Donatello breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Juvenal Barros's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Daniel Donatello was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. Malagutti Uai Soccer's Samuel de Amaral got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Samuel de Amaral came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Malagutti Uai Soccer fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Samuel de Amaral couldn't finish the play. Malagutti Uai Soccer's supporters crossed their fingers, but Samuel de Amaral was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alessandro Prestes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo José Berger having to interfere. After 90 minutes, Percy Faria mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Abadia and the Malagutti Uai Soccer players grew even worse after the yellow card. Percy Faria kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. In the 96th match minute, Abadia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sidnei Seco to maneuver through the defense.
