Sydney Breckenfeld sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edmundo Silva to make the kick off. If Sydney Breckenfeld had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Júnior de Azevedo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Turbonegro's supporters rose to their feet, but Júnior de Azevedo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dênis Barbosa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dênis Barbosa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmundo Silva in the 60th minute of play. Dênis Barbosa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Júnior de Azevedo, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Edmundo Silva took the ball and in the 67 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dênis Barbosa. Dênis Barbosa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Dênis Barbosa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmundo Silva, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Sydney Breckenfeld who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 82ndth minute tested the skills of Rogério Romero when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Sydney Breckenfeld's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Rogério Romero firmly grabbed it by the left post. Rômulo Paiva struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Rogério Romero didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sangaia. Turbonegro's Rogério Romero proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save Turbonegro from getting a goal against them.
