Alberto Fernandez scored 0-1 in the 12th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Carlos das Neves, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Andrés Moro in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Carlos das Neves prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 20 minutes of play Viramao's Gilvan Leme was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Gilvan Leme kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. After 23 played minutes Viramao got a freekick which was hit by Christiano Costa. After a defensive mix-up in Viramao's zone, Andrés Moro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos das Neves came out of the goal and Andrés Moro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Célio do Vale came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Viramao fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Célio do Vale couldn't finish the play. Gressa FC's Zeca Pitta proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Gressa FC from getting a goal against them. Carlos das Neves stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Andrés Moro's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. Carlos das Neves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cássio Maia in the 32nd minute of the match. The supporters of Gressa FC booed when Viramao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dino Vale didn't get a good kick on the ball. Andrés Moro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carlos das Neves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andrés Moro in the 41st minute of play. Andrés Moro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Carlos das Neves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The wind increased when Célio do Vale made the kick off in the second half. In the 71st minute, one of Gressa FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Gressa FC. Zeca Pitta had in the 73rdth minute some difficulties stopping Nildo de Medeiros's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Célio do Vale received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Zeca Pitta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cássio Maia blasted a shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Carlos das Neves having to make a save. Carlos das Neves made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Andrés Moro sent off a good shot on target. Cássio Maia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Andrés Moro spun around in front of the goal 84 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Viramao's goal. After a defensive mix-up in Viramao's zone, Cássio Maia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos das Neves came out of the goal and Cássio Maia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 89th minute Gressa FC were awarded a corner. Andrés Moro went to the cornerflag to take it. It was a well-played corner which Waldir de Azevedo managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Lauro Garcia kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Andrés Moro in the 94thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Carlos das Neves, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 95th minute, Dênis Cerezo fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Gressa FC played a much better game than Viramao and deserved their victory. The Viramao players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
