Seating: 1685, VIP seats: 145) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Andrés Moro made the kick off which started today's match. In the 5th match minute, Gressa FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cássio Maia to maneuver through the defense. Zeca Pitta acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 6th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Romário de Brito. In the 8th match minute, Gressa FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cássio Maia to maneuver through the defense. 14 minutes into the match, Ipaussu's goal looked a bit too open when Andrés Moro came free, but Washington da Costa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Andrés Moro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Washington da Costa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. If Dito Chaves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Washington da Costa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Fernandez, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. In the 21st minute, Andrés Moro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Washington da Costa was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Gressa FC's Andrés Moro got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Washington da Costa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Andrés Moro's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. Zeca Pitta made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nando Paraibano in the 31st minute. When the match had gone on for 33 minutes, Andrés Moro put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Washington da Costa. Jonas da Mata was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 39 minutes into the match. In the 38th minute, one of Gressa FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Gressa FC. Zeca Pitta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Laércio Queiroz, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dito Chaves to strike the kick off in the second half. Zeca Pitta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laércio Queiroz in the 55th minute of play. If Dênis Cerezo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Ipaussu getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Filipe Velasco hit a great ball. With a little luck, Ipaussu's Washington da Costa got control of the ball when Andrés Moro tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 60th minute Nando Paraibano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zeca Pitta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Cássio Maia fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gressa FC's protests and gave Cássio Maia a yellow card for diving instead. After 60 played minutes Gressa FC got a freekick which was hit by Cássio Maia. After a rather tough play, Gressa FC's Gonzalo Carrera got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Gressa FC's Zeca Pitta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dito Chaves in the 64th minute of play. 66 minutes into the match, Laércio Queiroz notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Gressa FC's Zeca Pitta. Zeca Pitta was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 74th match minute, Ipaussu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Neves to maneuver through the defense. Washington da Costa came out of the goal in the 77th minute to try and stop a shot by Gressa FC's Andrés Moro. But to his dismay, Andrés Moro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. After 79 played minutes Ipaussu got a freekick which was hit by Filipe Velasco. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dênis Cerezo got free with Washington da Costa in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 88 minutes, Walmyr Linhares managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gressa FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Walmyr Linhares was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 89 minutes, Dadá de Medeiros mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gressa FC and the Ipaussu players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 89th minute, Dadá de Medeiros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Nando Paraibano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Andrés Moro who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 96thth minute tested the skills of Washington da Costa when he managed to save the team from getting behind.
