The Itapoa fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. After a rather tough play, E. C. Fernandes's Jorge Dante got a free kick in the 20th minute. After having played for 21 minutes, Afonsinho Barral managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Itapoa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Afonsinho Barral was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Denílson Prata came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the E. C. Fernandes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Denílson Prata couldn't finish the play. Simão Abraão charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Simão Abraão the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Simão Abraão kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Leonel Pontes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Itapoa's supporters rose to their feet, but Leonel Pontes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nicolas Nascimento breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. E. C. Fernandes's Nicolas Nascimento played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Afonsinho Barral in the 42nd minute of play. Leonel Pontes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicolas Nascimento having to interfere. E. C. Fernandes's Nicolas Nascimento played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonel Pontes in the 47th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Leonel Pontes to make the kick off. Afonsinho Barral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fernandes's protests and gave Eugênio Carioca a yellow card for diving instead. Eugênio Carioca kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leonel Pontes in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nicolas Nascimento prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 65th minute, Afonsinho Barral got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nicolas Nascimento showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonel Pontes in the 68th minute of the match. Nicolas Nascimento made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonel Pontes in the 70th minute of play. In the 71stth minute of the game Leonel Pontes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but E. C. Fernandes's Nicolas Nascimento was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Itapoa's Afonsinho Barral got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 96th minute, Luisinho Corrêa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The E. C. Fernandes fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Itapoa were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
