Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Claudinei Penha started the match with the kick off. Samuca Cunha hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. Samuca Cunhas short, quick shot in the 5thth minute got Sérgio Custódio to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 10 minutes into the game, Luizinho Sampaio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Maracuja's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cara EC the free kick. Sérgio Custódio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Samuca Cunha's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. A hard shot 14 in the game by Samuca Cunha from a close distance when the talented Sérgio Custódio managed to make a qualified save. Maracuja's players were relieved. Sérgio Custódio stood somewhat misplaced when Samuca Cunha came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 16 minute. In the 20th minute, Joaquim Lara ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marcus Pena was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After 25 minutes of play, Cara EC's Mateus de Lima made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sérgio Custódio was left in no man's land by his defense there! 35 minutes into the game, Cara EC's Samuca Cunha nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sérgio Custódio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. In the 39th minute Breno Capixaba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcus Pena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Samuca Cunha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Sérgio Custódio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 46th match minute, Cara EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cacá Bezerra to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Samuca Cunha made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Maracuja's Valdemar de Lara got a free kick in the 53rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Pedro Pontes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cara EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Pedro Pontes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sérgio Custódio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Samuca Cunha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 73rd minute, Mateus de Lima made a precise shot to the right of Sérgio Custódio. Maracuja's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-1. After having played for 78 minutes, Mateus de Lima managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cara EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mateus de Lima was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Samuca Cunha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 96th minute, Cacá Bezerra ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sérgio Custódio was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-1. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Cara EC fully deserved thier win.
