Arthur Vidal made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Luís Paulo Loyola sent off a good shot on target. 26 minutes into the game, Luís Paulo Loyola cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Arthur Vidal was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. VIKINGS's Edmundo Rezende got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Luís Paulo Loyola came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Vila Nova F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luís Paulo Loyola couldn't finish the play. Vila Nova F.C's Osvaldo Souza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jeferson Maranhense in the 41st minute of play. A collision led to Vila Nova F.C getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Oséias Senna hit a great ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edmundo Rezende was the one to do the kick off. 54 minutes into the match, VIKINGS's goal looked a bit too open when Oséias Senna came free, but Arthur Vidal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Oséias Senna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gilberto Matorin hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Oséias Senna in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arthur Vidal saved VIKINGS from getting behind. Jeferson Maranhense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Osvaldo Souza having to interfere. Osvaldo Souza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmundo Rezende in the 70th minute of play. Arthur Vidal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oséias Senna in the 74th minute of play. In the 76th minute, Oséias Senna got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Osvaldo Souza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmundo Rezende in the 78th minute of play. 78 minutes into the game, Edmundo Rezende cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Osvaldo Souza was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 83 minutes into the game, Vila Nova F.C's Claudinho Abraão nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arthur Vidal made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Edmundo Rezende sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vila Nova F.C's Osvaldo Souza proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Vila Nova F.C from getting a goal against them. Vila Nova F.C's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
