Vitinho Favoretto hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Vânderson Macedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Vânderson Macedo came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Queimadinhas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vânderson Macedo couldn't finish the play. Enrique Pontes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Paulo Loyola, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Claudinho Abraão recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Paulo Loyola in the 33rd minute of play forced Queimadinhas's goalkeeper Enrique Pontes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gerson Prado could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Osvaldo Souza made a huge save. If Luís Paulo Loyola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Vânderson Macedo came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Queimadinhas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vânderson Macedo couldn't finish the play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Claudinho Abraão hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. In the 59th minute, Vânderson Macedo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Osvaldo Souza was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. After having played for 63 minutes, Oséias Senna managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vila Nova F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Oséias Senna was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Vila Nova F.C getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Claudinho Abraão hit a great ball. Osvaldo Souza stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vânderson Macedo's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. In the 87th minute Oséias Senna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enrique Pontes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Enrique Pontes was out of position in the 92 minute of play, and Oséias Senna capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Oséias Senna really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1.
