After 29 minutes, Sérgio Lucas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Descalvados and the Maracuja players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Descalvados getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Sérgio Lucas hit a great ball. 36 minutes into the game, Maracuja's Breno Capixaba nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aleandro Mesquita made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. 41 minutes into the match, Descalvados's Edinho Barbosa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sérgio Custódio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Breno Capixaba in the 43rd minute of play forced Descalvados's goalkeeper Aleandro Mesquita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Descalvados's Aleandro Mesquita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudinei Penha in the 45th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Claudinei Penha was extremely unlucky when he, in the 53rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 68thth minute of the game Dedé Zilles who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Maracuja's Sérgio Custódio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Edinho Barbosa struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Sérgio Custódio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Descalvados. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Maracuja's Sérgio Custódio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edinho Barbosa in the 84th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dedé Zilles in the 90th minute of play forced Maracuja's goalkeeper Sérgio Custódio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Maracuja's goalkeeper Sérgio Custódio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Edinho Barbosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
