An unexpectedly hard shot by Nelsinho Pontes in the 23rd minute of play forced Rosalandia's goalkeeper Dadá Bittencourt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dadá Bittencourt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fiori Fantini, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. The Rosalandia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dadá Bittencourt should have stopped the shot. Dadá Bittencourt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fiori Fantini, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Pedrinho Meira managed to get in a good position for a shot. champion's supporters rose to their feet, but Pedrinho Meira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dadá Bittencourt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Edvaldo Teles fell near the penalty area in the 98th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rosalandia's protests and gave Edvaldo Teles a yellow card for diving instead. Paulão Secco kicked well hit freekick during the 99th minute of the match.
