Edmundo Araújo might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jorge de Andrade. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edmundo Araújo ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 31st minute, one of BARRETÃO E. C.:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for BARRETÃO E. C.. The referee gave Buique a penalty, 33 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Pedro Paulo Lucas, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of BARRETÃO E. C.'s Jorge de Andrade. 0-3. Jorge de Andrade came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by Buique's Renan Veloso. But to his dismay, Renan Veloso quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. 40 minutes into the game, one of BARRETÃO E. C.:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cássio Mendonça during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Cássio Mendonça hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match.

Jorge de Andrade made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Renan Veloso in the 52nd minute of play. In the 53rd minute, Geovanni do Vale hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Aníbal Azevedo hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. After 60 played minutes BARRETÃO E. C. got a freekick which was hit by Dalmo Alagoano. If Edmundo Araújo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 65 minutes into the match, Renan Veloso dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jorge de Andrade, 0-6. 69 minutes into the match, BARRETÃO E. C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Aníbal Azevedo came free, but Jorge de Andrade reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 74th minute Renan Veloso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorge de Andrade saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Aníbal Azevedo came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Buique fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aníbal Azevedo couldn't finish the play. Renan Veloso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorge de Andrade having to interfere. Buique's Renan Veloso got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Valdo Miranda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luisinho Barral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. BARRETÃO E. C.'s Wiliam Guedes pulled a muscle in his leg after 93 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Aníbal Azevedo's late challenge caught a BARRETÃO E. C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aníbal Azevedo helped the player get up and apologised. In the 93rd minute, Aníbal Azevedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 96th minute Edmundo Araújo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorge de Andrade saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
