With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gino Lopez in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eurico Sampaio saved FC Holfinburg from getting behind. Carlos Fernando Sousa came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Holfinburg's Almir de Sousa. But to his dismay, Almir de Sousa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The supporters of Herois da Apae FC booed when FC Holfinburg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Walmyr Pires didn't get a good kick on the ball. 16 minutes into the match, FC Holfinburg's goalkeeper Eurico Sampaio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gino Lopez. Gino Lopez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eurico Sampaio having to interfere. Herois da Apae FC's Gino Lopez came free and shot a quick shot against goal 20 minutes in the game, fortunately Eurico Sampaio had problems saving as it came toward the left post. A collision led to FC Holfinburg getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Ademir dos Santos hit a great ball. Carlos Fernando Sousa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelinho Motta in the 30th minute of play. When Herois da Apae FC's Eduardo Furlan in the 33rd minute got a chance for a shot 33rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC Holfinburg's goalie prevented a goal. A hard shot by Adriano Vidal from long distance, 34 minutes into the match, got Eurico Sampaio's attention. Carlos Fernando Sousa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Walmyr Pires, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. 40 minutes into the match, Aírton Penha had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eurico Sampaio. FC Holfinburg's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Aírton Penha was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1.
