After 41 played minutes Aracatiara got a freekick which was hit by Conrado Leal. 47 minutes into the match, Gernando Ferraz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ulysses Alvarenga. Aracatiara's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gernando Ferraz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Aracatiara's Umberto Coelho was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Hélio Passos in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 64th match minute, Aracatiara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by André Luiz Valladares to maneuver through the defense. Ulysses Alvarenga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gernando Ferraz in the 65th minute of play. If Dênis Fernandez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ulysses Alvarenga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristiano Munhoz, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute.
