A. Ponte Preta's goal looked a bit too open when Paulinho Toscano came free, but Arí Motta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in A. A. Ponte Preta's zone, Paulinho Toscano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arí Motta came out of the goal and Paulinho Toscano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Arí Motta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benê de Senna in the 19th minute of the match. Invasion Team's Borys Knopek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Doni Mendes in the 21st minute of play. 22 minutes into the game, Invasion Team's Benê de Senna nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arí Motta made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Invasion Team's Benê de Senna got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 27th minute, Geraldo Chaves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 28th minute of the match Luiz Guilherme Perez shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Borys Knopek showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Romário Urbano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Borys Knopek tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Invasion Team were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Paulinho Toscano to make the kick off. The supporters of Invasion Team booed when A. A. Ponte Preta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Carneiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Invasion Team's zone, Doni Mendes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Borys Knopek came out of the goal and Doni Mendes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Doni Mendes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Borys Knopek tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Borys Knopek showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Romário Urbano, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. A collision led to Invasion Team getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Wilson Neiva hit a great ball. Doni Mendes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Invasion Team's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
