Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when João Pedro de Azevedo took the kick off in the first half of the match. Augusto Baiano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 9 minutes into the match, A. A. Ponte Preta's Doni Mendes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mário Mello narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A. A. Ponte Preta's goalkeeper couldn't reach when João Pedro de Azevedo 10 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. In the 18th match minute, A. A. Ponte Preta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Carneiro to maneuver through the defense. 21 minutes into the match, Caldeiroes's goal looked a bit too open when Doni Mendes came free, but Mário Mello reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Caldeiroes's João Pedro de Azevedo got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. João Pedro de Azevedo struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Arí Motta didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Caldeiroes. 26 minutes into the game, Caldeiroes's Clemente Baiano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arí Motta made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. The supporters of Caldeiroes booed when A. A. Ponte Preta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Guilherme Perez didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Romário Urbano in the 31st minute of play forced Caldeiroes's goalkeeper Mário Mello to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mário Mello made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Doni Mendes in the 35th minute of play. After 38 minutes of play, A. A. Ponte Preta's Doni Mendes made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mário Mello was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, A. A. Ponte Preta's Hudson Paiva got a free kick in the 43rd minute. With a little luck, A. A. Ponte Preta's Arí Motta got control of the ball when Orlando Paulista tried to sneak it across the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Doni Mendes made a kick off. João Pedro de Azevedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Arí Motta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 57th minute, Orlando Paulista made a precise shot to the right of Arí Motta. A. A. Ponte Preta's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. In the 63rd minute, Romário Urbano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Doni Mendes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mário Mello having to interfere. 74 minutes into the match, Doni Mendes dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Mário Mello, 3-2. If Cláudio de Godoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Mário Mello made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Doni Mendes in the 81st minute of play. 83 minutes into the match, João Pedro de Azevedo notched a goal, 4-2, to the right of A. A. Ponte Preta's Arí Motta. Arí Motta was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Caldeiroes getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. João Pedro de Azevedo hit a great ball. Caldeiroes's Mário Mello proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save Caldeiroes from getting a goal against them. Dorian Pena kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Caldeiroes fully deserved thier win.
