Cafu Lucas was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Dênis de Alcântara managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pulse F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Dênis de Alcântara was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Guto Velasco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cafu Lucas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raúl Carvalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Osvaldo Furtado's late challenge caught a Sousa's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Osvaldo Furtado helped the player get up and apologised. In the 16th match minute, Pulse F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Osvaldo Furtado to maneuver through the defense. After 28 minutes, Júlio Dante mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sousa and the Pulse F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Sousa's Júlio Dante got a free kick in the 28th minute. After 30 played minutes Sousa got a freekick which was hit by Samuca Andrade. Cafu Lucas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raúl Carvalho in the 38th minute of the match. Davi Pereira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guto Velasco having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Davi Pereira managed to get in a good position for a shot. When Samuca Andrade fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sousa's protests and gave Samuca Andrade a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Pulse F.C. booed when Sousa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Samuca Andrade didn't get a good kick on the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Cafu Lucas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Genílson Breckenfeld in the 54th minute of play. 56 minutes into the game, Gabriel Abreu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pulse F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sousa the free kick. After 55 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Pulse F.C.! Guto Proença kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. 65 minutes into the game, Claudinei Falcão was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sousa's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pulse F.C. the free kick. The referee gave Pulse F.C. a penalty, 67 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by César Andrade, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Sousa's Guto Velasco. 2-1. In the 71st minute, Raúl Carvalho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Genílson Breckenfeld sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Raúl Carvalho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cafu Lucas having to interfere.
