In the 15th match minute, Cocelinho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulo Duarte to maneuver through the defense. In the 20th match minute, Cocelinho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dé Sabóia to maneuver through the defense. 29 minutes into the match, A. A. Ponte Preta's goal looked a bit too open when Diguinho Lima came free, but Arí Motta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When A. A. Ponte Preta's Doni Mendes, in the 36th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for A. A. Ponte Preta. Doni Mendes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lucjan Madej having to make a save. After a rather tough play, Cocelinho's Paulo Duarte got a free kick in the 40th minute. Lucjan Madej made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Doni Mendes in the 41st minute of play. If Romário Urbano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lucjan Madej took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Doni Mendes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dé Sabóia kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. Romário Urbano struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Lucjan Madej didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for A. A. Ponte Preta.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Diguinho Lima to make the kick off. Lucjan Madej made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Doni Mendes in the 57th minute of play. A. A. Ponte Preta's Arí Motta proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save A. A. Ponte Preta from getting a goal against them. Romário Urbano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Romário Urbano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Valdomiro Andrade fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored A. A. Ponte Preta's protests and gave Valdomiro Andrade a yellow card for diving instead. After 66 played minutes A. A. Ponte Preta got a freekick which was hit by Valdomiro Andrade. Cocelinho's Eusébio Medeiros shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 67th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Arí Motta but with some difficulty. Inácio Rosa kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. Lucjan Madej showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Romário Urbano, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Paulo Duarte charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Paulo Duarte the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Paulo Duarte hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Doni Mendes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lucjan Madej having to interfere. Lucjan Madej didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Doni Mendes went, in the 88th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. The audience thought a goal was coming when Inácio Rosa got free with Arí Motta in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Doni Mendes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lucjan Madej having to interfere. A. A. Ponte Preta walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
