Luisão Maranhense started the match with the kick off. Christina FC's Luisão Maranhense got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 10th match minute, Christina FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jaime Mesquita to maneuver through the defense. Fernando Catarinense hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Luís Fábio da Mata had several of the Christina FC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 13 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-1 score and a disappointed Dagoberto Madureira as he didn't even see the shot coming. Romário Barral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Dagoberto Madureira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Romário Barral blasted a shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dagoberto Madureira having to make a save. Luisão Maranhense took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Silvério Fantini. Silvério Fantini dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. If Luís Fábio da Mata had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fernando Catarinense hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Luisão Maranhense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Romário Barral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 35 played minutes Christina FC got a freekick which was hit by Tadeu Pernambucano. When Christina FC's Ademar Magalhães in the 38th minute got a chance for a shot 38th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Assiz SC's goalie prevented a goal. Ademar Magalhães struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Silvério Fantini didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Christina FC. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luís Fábio da Mata to make the kick off. Ademar Magalhães in the 53rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Silvério Fantini, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Luisão Maranhense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luisão Maranhense in the 58th minute of play forced Assiz SC's goalkeeper Silvério Fantini to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 61 played minutes Assiz SC got a freekick which was hit by Enéas Botelho. If Luisão Maranhense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 64th minute, Ademar Magalhães got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 71st minute of the match, Ademar Magalhães got a very nice opportunity to score, but Silvério Fantini was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Artur Simões kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luisão Maranhense in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Silvério Fantini saved Assiz SC from getting behind. Jaime Mesquita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Silvério Fantini read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. Dagoberto Madureira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Artur Simões in the 91st minute of the match. Ademar Magalhães fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silvério Fantini having to interfere. Assiz SC's Silvério Fantini played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luisão Maranhense in the 97th minute of play.
