In the 20th minute, Gustavo Pereira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sousa fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Valdir Gaúcho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Fellipe Vianna made a huge save. Groghom's Fellipe Vianna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valdir Gaúcho in the 29th minute of play. After 33rd play minutes Valdir Gaúcho shot 3-0, a short shot which went by Fellipe Vianna and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 41stth minute of the game Valdir Gaúcho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Groghom's Fellipe Vianna was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Groghom's zone, Gustavo Pereira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fellipe Vianna came out of the goal and Gustavo Pereira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

51 minutes into the match, Gustavo Pereira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fellipe Vianna. Groghom's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gustavo Pereira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. When Vicente Schmidt fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sousa's protests and gave Vicente Schmidt a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Sousa getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Vicente Schmidt hit a great ball. The audience held their breath when Arnaldo de Lima in the 62nd minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Abel Vianna's left hand side. In the 64thth minute of the game Valdir Gaúcho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Groghom's Fellipe Vianna was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Fellipe Vianna stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Valdir Gaúcho's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. Cássio Nóbrega struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Fellipe Vianna didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sousa. With 75 minutes on the clock, Maurício Meira commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 75th minute, one of Sousa:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Sousa. When the match had been going on for 77 minutes, Groghom's Fred Mota got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Abel Vianna. In the 81stth minute of the game Gustavo Pereira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Groghom's Fellipe Vianna was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 87 minutes into the game, Kauã de Amorim was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Groghom's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sousa the free kick. After a rather tough play, Groghom's Kauã de Amorim got a free kick in the 87th minute. Sousa's Abel Vianna proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save Sousa from getting a goal against them. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rômulo Souza during the 98th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Groghom booed when Sousa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 98 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rômulo Souza didn't get a good kick on the ball.
