The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Valdir Arce showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jairo Hermes in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Valdir Arce prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Quintino FC's Valdir Arce played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcelo Varela in the 23rd minute of play. If Marcelo Varela had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Valdir Arce made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelo Varela in the 28th minute of play. A collision led to Anhuma getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Oswaldo Bastos hit a great ball. After the first half Anhuma were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jairo Hermes was the one to do the kick off. Valdir Arce showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jairo Hermes in the 54th minute of the match. In the 56th minute Jairo Hermes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valdir Arce saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 58 minutes into the match, Anhuma's Oswaldo Bastos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Valdir Arce narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jairo Hermes in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Valdir Arce saved Quintino FC from getting behind. Anhuma were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
