The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Valdir Arce took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Refik Halit Iğdırlı, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 6 minutes into the match, Mazinho Loyola dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Valdir Arce, 1-0. Júlio Tróia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thomás Brodel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Quintino FC's Valdir Arce proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Quintino FC from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Refik Halit Iğdırlı managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bacuriteua's supporters rose to their feet, but Refik Halit Iğdırlı was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valdir Arce breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mazinho Loyola got free with Valdir Arce in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mazinho Loyola fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdir Arce having to interfere. In the 32nd minute, Refik Halit Iğdırlı got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, Quintino FC's Valdir Arce got control of the ball when Mazinho Loyola tried to sneak it across the goal line. 35 minutes into the match, Quintino FC's goalkeeper Valdir Arce had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Refik Halit Iğdırlı. Quintino FC's Valdir Arce played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mazinho Loyola in the 36th minute of play. Mazinho Loyola fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdir Arce having to interfere. Tião Batista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mazinho Loyola recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Thomás Brodel made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Mazinho Loyola notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Quintino FC's Valdir Arce. Valdir Arce was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Mazinho Loyola sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Refik Halit Iğdırlı sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Bacuriteua's attentive Gustavo Gomes managed to snatch the ball when Valdemar Capixaba made a throw-in in the 71st minute of the game. Valdir Arce showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Refik Halit Iğdırlı in the 73rd minute of the match. The supporters of Quintino FC booed when Bacuriteua was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hélder Mineiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luan Peres hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Mazinho Loyola blasted a shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Valdir Arce having to make a save. Thomás Brodel received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Júlio Tróia came out and tried to block the shot, but Thomás Brodel slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 83rd minute. After 86 played minutes Quintino FC got a freekick which was hit by Betinho Passos. If Mazinho Loyola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Bacuriteua's Gustavo Gomes got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 93rd minute Mazinho Loyola shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valdir Arce saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mazinho Loyola fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdir Arce having to interfere. Quintino FC succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Bacuriteua had controlled the match.
