When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Aílton Novaes made a kick off. José Augusto Pinho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jorge Monteiro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. Waldir Castro might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jorge Monteiro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Waldir Castro ran back to his position shaking his head. Ivatuva SC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
