Nelson Aguiar scored 0-2 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Moisés Motta, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Clube Oriente Petroleiro's zone, Cleiton Berger stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Moisés Motta came out of the goal and Cleiton Berger tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cleiton Berger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Moisés Motta having to interfere. In the 38th minute, Hílton Camargo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 41st play minute Adriano Valadares came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Diamantino Rosa. 1-2. When Nelson Aguiar fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cadeado's protests and gave Nelson Aguiar a yellow card for diving instead. In the 45th minute, Nelson Aguiar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. They were losing 1-3.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Luís Fernando Oliveira was the one to do the kick off. If Cleiton Berger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
