A wasted opportunity for Vikings. 12 minutes into the match, Vikings's goal looked a bit too open when Elano Romero came free, but Ricardinho Almeida reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Vikings fans' excitement grew in the 14th match minute when Vikings's João Carlos Teles looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 19 minutes into the match, Cleiton Correia notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Vikings's Ricardinho Almeida. Ricardinho Almeida was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Giuseppe Queiroz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Maurício Gaspar made an important save on a dangerous shot by Giuseppe Queiroz in the 30th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Carlos Teles in the 44th minute of play forced Celeste SC's goalkeeper Maurício Gaspar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Elano Romero recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. João Carlos Teles was the one to do the kick off. Jacinto das Neves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Maurício Gaspar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 60th minute, Giuseppe Queiroz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Vikings's attack was well implemented in the 63rd minute, but when João Carlos Teles was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. Maurício Gaspar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Carlos Teles, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Maurício Gaspar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 78 minutes into the match, Vikings's goal looked a bit too open when Elano Romero came free, but Ricardinho Almeida reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vikings's supporters crossed their fingers, but João Carlos Teles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ricardinho Almeida made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elano Romero in the 96th minute of play. Celeste SC were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Vikings's much stronger midfield.
