Nuno Novaes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Douglas Damião having to interfere. After 22 played minutes, Burizeiro's Régis Sousa shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Douglas Damião came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Burizeiro reached it. In the 31st minute, Thiago Galvão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Víktor Cordeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Nuno Novaes came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Burizeiro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nuno Novaes couldn't finish the play. After 47 minutes, Chicão Simão mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Burizeiro and the JAPARAIBA FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. João Paulo Guerra did an outstanding performance 48 minutes into the match, when he by himself got past the opposing team's defense and with a quick scored 2-0 to the right of an irritated Afonso Catarinense in the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Nuno Novaes in the 58th minute of play forced JAPARAIBA FC's goalkeeper Douglas Damião to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Nuno Novaes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Douglas Damião was relentless in the 66th minute of the game. The crowd rose to their feet as Nuno Novaes kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Douglas Damião. That made the score 2-1 in the 67 minute of play. Douglas Damião was a little too slow when Nuno Novaes got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 73rd minute. The score was now 2-2. If Nuno Novaes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience was convinced that Nuno Novaes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Douglas Damião was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. Frédson Vidal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Afonso Catarinense having to interfere. In the 87th minute Frédson Vidal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Afonso Catarinense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. JAPARAIBA FC's Douglas Damião played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nuno Novaes in the 91st minute of play. 97 minutes into the game, Nuno Novaes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. Douglas Damião was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The JAPARAIBA FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Burizeiro's performance. The match ended with a win for Burizeiro.
