Burizeiro's defense didn't have a chance, in the 5th minute, when Evaristo Rodrigues scored to the left of an out of position Afonso Catarinense, making the score, 1-0. Burizeiro's Afonso Catarinense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evaristo Rodrigues in the 11th minute of play. 12 minutes into the match, Burizeiro's goalkeeper Afonso Catarinense had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Juvenal Leite. Geraldo Gomes's late challenge caught a Santastico FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Geraldo Gomes helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Burizeiro's Geraldo Gomes got a free kick in the 16th minute. Juvenal Leite came free with the goalkeeper in the 17th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Afonso Catarinense could save by the left post. If Juvenal Leite had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Juvenal Leite sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Evaristo Rodrigues's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Afonso Catarinense was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. Juvenal Leites short, quick shot in the 47thth minute got Afonso Catarinense to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nuno Novaes to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Caco Ramos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Afonso Catarinense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Santastico FC booed when Burizeiro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dagoberto Marinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. 56 minutes into the match, Burizeiro's goal looked a bit too open when Evaristo Rodrigues came free, but Afonso Catarinense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Afonso Catarinense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juvenal Leite in the 62nd minute of play. When the match had gone on for 63 minutes, Juvenal Leite put it in 3-0 from a short distance just to the right of Afonso Catarinense. Santastico FC's Luiz Paulo Barbosa was substituted for Juvenal Leite. Afonso Catarinense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vladimir Freitas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee ended the match the Santastico FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
