Percy Matos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. 26 minutes into the match, Franca SC's goalkeeper Percy Matos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cipriano Neto. Cipriano Netos short, quick shot in the 28thth minute got Percy Matos to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Andrézinho Motta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 35 minutes into the match, Franca SC's goal looked a bit too open when Andrézinho Motta came free, but Percy Matos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Franca SC's Percy Matos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andrézinho Motta in the 38th minute of play. Andrézinho Motta blasted a shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Percy Matos having to make a save. In the 42nd minute, Franca SC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Cipriano Neto fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Cleiton Macedo's late challenge caught a Franca SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cleiton Macedo helped the player get up and apologised. In the 44th minute, one of Negov Sport Club:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Negov Sport Club. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when José Vítor de Andrade stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the match, Afonsinho Chaves had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Oswaldo Paraibano. Negov Sport Club's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Afonsinho Chaves was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. If Andrézinho Motta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cipriano Neto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Percy Matos having to make a save. Percy Matos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cipriano Neto in the 67th minute of the match. In the 70th minute Andrézinho Motta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Percy Matos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mário Leal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Percy Matos having to interfere. Cipriano Neto might have been able to make a better finish in the 73rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Percy Matos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cipriano Neto ran back to his position shaking his head. After 75 played minutes Negov Sport Club got a freekick which was hit by Cipriano Neto. Franca SC's Percy Matos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cipriano Neto in the 85th minute of play. In the 86th match minute, Franca SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Vítor de Andrade to maneuver through the defense. Andrézinho Motta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Percy Matos having to interfere.
