After 9 played minutes Jacuricy EC got a freekick which was hit by Romário Vander. 12 minutes into the match, Jacuricy EC's goal looked a bit too open when Conrado Lopes came free, but Afonso Marquez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. JheNano FC's Ramón Mesquita got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Kléber Paraibano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Leopoldo Sá tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of JheNano FC booed when Jacuricy EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Romário Vander didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sílvio Luís de Lima got free with Leopoldo Sá in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 46th minute Sílvio Luís de Lima shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leopoldo Sá saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Jacuricy EC's Afonso Marquez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save Jacuricy EC from getting a goal against them. If Sílvio Luís de Lima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 70 minutes of play JheNano FC's Carlinhos Toledo was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Leopoldo Sá had in the 72ndth minute some difficulties stopping Sílvio Luís de Lima's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Leopoldo Sá didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sílvio Luís de Lima went, in the 72nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Leopoldo Sá stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sílvio Luís de Lima's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Ramón Mesquita managed to get in a good position for a shot. JheNano FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ramón Mesquita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Afonso Marquez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 79th minute, Romário Vander hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to JheNano FC getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Natanael Furtado hit a great ball. In the 89th minute of the match, Ramón Mesquita tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Afonso Marquez saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Leopoldo Sá took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sílvio Luís de Lima, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Jacuricy EC players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
