In the 6th minute Dedé Leal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enio Abreu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ciro Prestes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ciro Prestes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Samuca Nóbrega tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 13th minute, Mangunca's Ciro Prestes ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Samuca Nóbrega. Samuca Nóbrega yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. In the 17th minute, Dedé Leal ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Enio Abreu was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Ciro Prestes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuca Nóbrega having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bruninho Vasconcelos got free with Samuca Nóbrega in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ciro Prestes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Samuca Nóbrega having to make a save. Bruninho Vasconcelos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuca Nóbrega having to interfere. When Augusto Cunha came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Toca I Saii fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Augusto Cunha couldn't finish the play. 35 minutes into the game, Toca I Saii's Dedé Leal nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Enio Abreu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Toca I Saii's defense didn't have a chance, in the 38th minute, when Ciro Prestes scored to the left of an out of position Samuca Nóbrega, making the score, 3-2. After 41 played minutes Toca I Saii got a freekick which was hit by Adhemar Veiga. Ciro Prestes struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Samuca Nóbrega didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mangunca. After a defensive mix-up in Toca I Saii's zone, Luiz Eduardo Dantas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Samuca Nóbrega came out of the goal and Luiz Eduardo Dantas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ciro Prestes to make the kick off. When Adalberto Velloso fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Toca I Saii's protests and gave Adalberto Velloso a yellow card for diving instead. When Ciro Prestes came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Mangunca fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ciro Prestes couldn't finish the play. Toca I Saii's Samuca Nóbrega played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ciro Prestes in the 62nd minute of play. 63 minutes into the match, Ciro Prestes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Samuca Nóbrega.
