The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ramiro Gerber fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 2nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulysses Marques having to interfere. After 5 played minutes SC Corinthians Taboao got a freekick which was hit by Silvinho Velasco. Cipriano Meireles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulysses Marques having to interfere. Ulysses Marques made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Clóvis Meireles in the 10th minute of play. 14 minutes into the match, Hakuna Matata's goal looked a bit too open when Cipriano Meireles came free, but Ulysses Marques reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 17th minute, Cipriano Meireles made a precise shot to the right of Ulysses Marques. Hakuna Matata's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 23rd match minute, SC Corinthians Taboao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mané Cabral to maneuver through the defense. SC Corinthians Taboao's Richard Santana proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save SC Corinthians Taboao from getting a goal against them. Ulysses Marques took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cipriano Meireles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 33 minutes into the match, SC Corinthians Taboao's Cipriano Meireles sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ulysses Marques narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 34 minutes into the match, Hakuna Matata's goal looked a bit too open when Cipriano Meireles came free, but Ulysses Marques reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Hakuna Matata's Rodolfo Meira got a free kick in the 36th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cipriano Meireles in the 39th minute of play forced Hakuna Matata's goalkeeper Ulysses Marques to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ulysses Marques showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ramiro Gerber in the 41st minute of the match. Clóvis Meireles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Ulysses Marques tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cipriano Meireles made a kick off. The supporters of SC Corinthians Taboao booed when Hakuna Matata was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Miguel do Nascimento didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 60th match minute, SC Corinthians Taboao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mané Cabral to maneuver through the defense. Rodolfo Meira hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Cipriano Meireles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Clóvis Meireles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Ulysses Marques tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Cipriano Meireles in the 69th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Ulysses Marques kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 0-2 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. Cipriano Meireles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Cipriano Meireles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cipriano Meireles blasted a shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ulysses Marques having to make a save. Ramiro Gerber's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ulysses Marques read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. Silvinho Velasco hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. Richard Santana came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by Hakuna Matata's Dalmo de Salles. But to his dismay, Dalmo de Salles quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. The Hakuna Matata fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. SC Corinthians Taboao were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
