Hakuna Matata's Dalmo de Salles got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Duarte Correia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 13 minutes into the match, Hakuna Matata's Dalmo de Salles sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luiz Eduardo Pernambucano narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 15th minute, Duarte Correia made a precise shot to the right of Luiz Eduardo Pernambucano. Espinosense F.C's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. 19 minutes into the match, Duarte Correia had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luiz Eduardo Pernambucano. Luiz Eduardo Pernambucano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodolfo Meira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Robinho Linhares came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Espinosense F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Robinho Linhares couldn't finish the play. Ulysses Marques made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tiago Lara in the 45th minute of play. Hakuna Matata's Luisinho Brasil got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dalmo de Salles was the one to do the kick off. In the 56th minute of the match, Duarte Correia got a very nice opportunity to score, but Luiz Eduardo Pernambucano was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Luisinho Brasil helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Hakuna Matata getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Luisinho Brasil hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Robinho Linhares in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ulysses Marques saved Hakuna Matata from getting behind. Hakuna Matata played a much better game than Espinosense F.C and deserved their victory. The Espinosense F.C players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
