After having played for 11 minutes, Eurico Sena managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Galo Cego FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eurico Sena was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Galo Cego FC's Eurico Sena in the 14th minute got a chance for a shot 14th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In a very dangerous position, a player in Galo Cego FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 20th minute. Penalty! When the match clock showed 26 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Eurico Sena sped through Locomotives's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Leandro Mattos. 29 minutes into the match, Locomotives's goal looked a bit too open when Amauri Chaves came free, but Leandro Mattos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 31 minutes into the match, Galo Cego FC's Eurico Sena sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Leandro Mattos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Leandro Mattos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eurico Sena, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. After a rather tough play, Locomotives's Luizão Maranhense got a free kick in the 36th minute. The audience was convinced that Amauri Chaves's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leandro Mattos was relentless in the 47th minute of the game. After the first half Galo Cego FC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After a defensive mix-up in Locomotives's zone, Teodoro Oliveira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leandro Mattos came out of the goal and Teodoro Oliveira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eurico Sena in the 58thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Leandro Mattos, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Locomotives's Leandro Mattos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Locomotives from getting a goal against them. Felipe Motta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 66th minute Gilberto Antunes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sandrinho Paiva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sandrinho Paiva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leopoldo Sabóia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Francisco Brodel fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Locomotives's protests and gave Francisco Brodel a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Locomotives getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Francisco Brodel hit a great ball. With his leg Leandro Mattos managed to avoid a goal in the 73rdth minute, when Galo Cego FC's Eurico Sena fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 75th minute, Locomotives's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Eurico Sena fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. If Eurico Sena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With his leg Leandro Mattos managed to avoid a goal in the 84thth minute, when Galo Cego FC's Eurico Sena fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Amauri Chaves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Leandro Mattos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eurico Sena succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-3 in the 93rd playminute.
