Spectators: 6666 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1666, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Vânderson Félix started the match with the kick off. Flora's João Braga got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Arthur Veloso scored 0-1 in the 7th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tadeu Rezende, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Geraldo Barreto came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Flora fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Geraldo Barreto couldn't finish the play. When Ademir de Queirós fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Frecheiras FC's protests and gave Ademir de Queirós a yellow card for diving instead. In the 28th minute, Ademir de Queirós hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Flora defense, Ademir de Queirós kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luisinho Souza. The Flora fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luisinho Souza should have stopped the shot. After having played for 33 minutes, Zé Rocha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Flora's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zé Rocha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Marcus Marques had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luís Fabiano Hoffmann during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 36 played minutes Frecheiras FC got a freekick which was hit by Luís Fabiano Hoffmann. Tadeu Rezende took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geraldo Barreto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 43 minutes into the match, Flora's goalkeeper Luisinho Souza had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bruninho Soares. If Arthur Veloso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Flora's Luisinho Souza got control of the ball when Ademir de Queirós tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 48 played minutes Frecheiras FC got a freekick which was hit by Vânderson Félix. After the first half Flora were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Arthur Veloso to strike the kick off in the second half. Flora's Luisinho Souza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bruninho Soares in the 54th minute of play. Tadeu Rezende was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Zé Rocha showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-3 in the 56 minute of play. After 60 minutes, Fellipe Sampaio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Frecheiras FC and the Flora players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 60th minute, Fellipe Sampaio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 62nd minute Geraldo Barreto managed to get in a great position but fired away a sharp shot that went outside the goal on the goalie's right hand side. It could just as well have been a goal. Geraldo Barreto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Tadeu Rezende tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tadeu Rezende made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Rocha in the 77th minute of play. Zé Rocha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
