After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Pedrão Loyola managed to get in a good position for a shot. Meriti's supporters rose to their feet, but Pedrão Loyola was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valdomiro Berger breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 17 played minutes Meriti got a freekick which was hit by Dieguinho Sabóia. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vito Salles in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Raúl Prestes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Vito Salles blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Raúl Prestes having to make a save. After a rather tough play, Meriti's Sílvio Luís Bastos got a free kick in the 20th minute. Vito Salles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Raúl Prestes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 29thth minute of the game Luiz Guilherme de Mendonça who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Dietrichz FC's Valdomiro Berger was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 35 minutes into the match, Dietrichz FC's goal looked a bit too open when Pedrão Loyola came free, but Valdomiro Berger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Dietrichz FC getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Vito Salles hit a great ball. Luiz Guilherme de Mendonça fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdomiro Berger having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luiz Guilherme de Mendonça stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Vito Salles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raúl Prestes having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bernardinho Netto during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 63 minutes in the game Vitório dos Santos got a great opportunity which he missed by shooting outside the goal. In the 65th minute of the match, Luiz Guilherme de Mendonça tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Valdomiro Berger saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Luiz Guilherme de Mendonça succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-1 in the 65th playminute. Pedrão Loyola blasted a shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Valdomiro Berger having to make a save. A collision led to Dietrichz FC getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Belmiro Vidal hit a great ball. Valdomiro Berger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Guilherme de Mendonça in the 84th minute of play. Gláuber Figueiredo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. During the 91st minute of the match Bernardinho Netto completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Bernardinho Netto a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The Meriti players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
