When Marcus Marques came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Flora fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcus Marques couldn't finish the play. After 27 played minutes Camboriu FC got a freekick which was hit by Andrézinho Bittencourt. After 30 minutes of play, Flora's Arthur Veloso made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Hélio Dias was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luisinho Souza made an important save on a dangerous shot by Armando Baiano in the 45th minute. 48 minutes into the match, Flora's goal looked a bit too open when Felipe Reis came free, but Luisinho Souza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Arthur Veloso was the one to do the kick off.
