In the 3rd minute, Juarês Quirino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Donato da Costa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Celso Cerezo's shot from short distance in the 6th minute. Bernardo Loyola sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Enéas Alcântara managed to get in a good position for a shot. Crisopolis's supporters rose to their feet, but Enéas Alcântara was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Donato da Costa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 14th minute, Juarês Quirino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Celsinho Barros took the ball and in the 15 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Donato da Costa. Donato da Costa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 20 minutes into the match, Clóvis Vides had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Donato da Costa. Guaraniuva's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Clóvis Vides was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Celso Cerezo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Donato da Costa having to make a save. After 27 minutes, Bernardo Loyola mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Guaraniuva and the Crisopolis players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 28thth minute of the game Celso Cerezo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Guaraniuva's Donato da Costa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 30 played minutes Crisopolis got a freekick which was hit by Clóvis Vides. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Celso Cerezo in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Donato da Costa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Crisopolis getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Juarês Quirino hit a great ball. Erik Figueiredo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 47th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Donato da Costa. Guaraniuva's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Iuri Reis to make the kick off. After having played for 51 minutes, Juarês Quirino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Crisopolis's supporters crossed their fingers, but Juarês Quirino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Crisopolis's Clóvis Vides got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Vágner Oliveira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Guaraniuva's supporters rose to their feet, but Vágner Oliveira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luisinho Pitta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 57 played minutes Crisopolis got a freekick which was hit by Celsinho Barros. Donato da Costa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celso Cerezo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Guaraniuva's Bernardo Loyola got his second yellow card of the match in the 62nd minute. The referee ordered Bernardo Loyola off the ground. The audience was convinced that Celso Cerezo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Donato da Costa was relentless in the 68th minute of the game. With his leg Donato da Costa managed to avoid a goal in the 74thth minute, when Crisopolis's Celso Cerezo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Clóvis Vides fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donato da Costa having to interfere. When Juarês Quirino came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Crisopolis fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Juarês Quirino couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Guaraniuva getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Andrézinho Prestes hit a great ball. After 87 minutes, Celso Cerezo made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Guaraniuva's Donato da Costa tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Alfredão Gomes took the ball and in the 91 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Luisinho Pitta. Luisinho Pitta dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Clóvis Vides fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donato da Costa having to interfere.
