Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Taubaté E.C's Fred Queiroz started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Celso Cerezo in the 5th minute of play forced Taubaté E.C's goalkeeper Ulysses Arruda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 6 minutes, Juarês Quirino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Crisopolis's supporters crossed their fingers, but Juarês Quirino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 10th match minute, Crisopolis was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Maria de Salles to maneuver through the defense. Clóvis Vides hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. In the 15th minute of the match Vitório Arantes sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Luisinho Pitta skillfully saved the ball. If José Maria de Salles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Taubaté E.C's Ulysses Arruda got control of the ball when Clóvis Vides tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Zézinho Sarmento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luisinho Pitta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Belmiro Bezerra, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. José Maria de Salles hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Celso Cerezo to strike the kick off in the second half. Ulysses Arruda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juarês Quirino in the 54th minute of play. Juarês Quirino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulysses Arruda having to interfere. After 58 played minutes Crisopolis got a freekick which was hit by Zézinho Sarmento. José Maria de Salles hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Juarês Quirino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Celso Cerezo in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ulysses Arruda prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 68 minutes into the match, Celso Cerezo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ulysses Arruda. Taubaté E.C's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Celso Cerezo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. In the 78th minute Celso Cerezo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ulysses Arruda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Crisopolis getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Enéas Alcântara hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Celso Cerezo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ulysses Arruda was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. Clóvis Vides fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulysses Arruda having to interfere. Juarês Quirino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Ulysses Arruda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 89th minute Fred Queiroz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luisinho Pitta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
