Crisopolis's Juarês Quirino got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Raúl Prestes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juarês Quirino, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. In the 7th minute, Eriberto Pernambucano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 14 played minutes Meriti got a freekick which was hit by Vitório dos Santos. Raúl Prestes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Clóvis Vides went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juarês Quirino in the 19th minute of play forced Meriti's goalkeeper Raúl Prestes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 26 played minutes Meriti got a freekick which was hit by Didi da Rocha. José Maria de Salles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Crisopolis's Juarês Quirino got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. José Maria de Salles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raúl Prestes having to interfere. Clóvis Vides struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Raúl Prestes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Crisopolis. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind Meriti's goalkeeper Raúl Prestes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Crisopolis's José Maria de Salles got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Juarês Quirino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Raúl Prestes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When José Maria de Salles came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Crisopolis fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Maria de Salles couldn't finish the play. If José Maria de Salles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Crisopolis were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Luiz Guilherme de Mendonça made the kick off in the second half. Celso Cerezo in the 55thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Raúl Prestes, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. A collision led to Crisopolis getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Juarês Quirino hit a great ball. When Pedrão Loyola came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Meriti fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pedrão Loyola couldn't finish the play. Crisopolis's Celso Cerezo got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Wellington Mendes charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Wellington Mendes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Luisinho Pitta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luan Domingues in the 67th minute of play. In the 68th minute, José Maria de Salles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luisinho Pitta came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by Meriti's Pedrão Loyola. But to his dismay, Pedrão Loyola quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Juarês Quirino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Raúl Prestes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Celso Cerezo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Raúl Prestes made a huge save. Crisopolis's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Celso Cerezo in the 76th minute. The corner ended in Zézinho Sarmento almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Meriti's Raúl Prestes did a great save. After a defensive mix-up in Meriti's zone, José Maria de Salles stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Raúl Prestes came out of the goal and José Maria de Salles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Celso Cerezo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raúl Prestes having to interfere. In the 86th minute, Celso Cerezo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Crisopolis fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. 91 minutes into the match, Meriti's goal looked a bit too open when Celso Cerezo came free, but Raúl Prestes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Juarês Quirino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Raúl Prestes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Celso Cerezo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Crisopolis's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
