Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Antônio Meirelles took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 5th minute of the match Durvalino Nogueira sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dorival Novaes skillfully saved the ball. Hamílton Vander made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antônio Meirelles in the 11th minute of play. 17 minutes into the match, Calcoene's goal looked a bit too open when Vitório Varela came free, but Dorival Novaes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alfredinho de Barros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Dorival Novaes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 23rd match minute, Calcoene was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tales Guerra to maneuver through the defense. 24 minutes into the match, Durvalino Nogueira sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Dorival Novaes threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Durvalino Nogueira this time. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Antônio Meirelles in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hamílton Vander prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Antônio Carlos Carvalho kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Hamílton Vander showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maurinho Lago, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. In the 32nd minute of the match Diversus F.C. got a corner. Calcoene's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Durvalino Nogueira ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Calcoene's goalie and right to Juninho Nunes. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Calcoene's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. If José Maria Queiroz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hamílton Vander took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maurinho Lago, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vitório Varela sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 46th minute of the match, Vitório Varela tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Dorival Novaes saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Durvalino Nogueira's late challenge caught a Calcoene's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Durvalino Nogueira helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Diversus F.C. getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Durvalino Nogueira hit a great ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 55th minute of the match Diversus F.C. got a corner. Calcoene's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Durvalino Nogueira ran over to the corner to take the kick. Diversus F.C.'s Durvalino Nogueira was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Dorival Novaes in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The supporters of Calcoene booed when Diversus F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vitório Varela didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alfredinho de Barros recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 60th match minute, Calcoene was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tales Guerra to maneuver through the defense. 65 minutes into the game, Alfredinho de Barros cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Dorival Novaes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Antônio Carlos Carvalho charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Antônio Carlos Carvalho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Diversus F.C.'s Antônio Carlos Carvalho got a free kick in the 69th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Maurinho Lago got free with Hamílton Vander in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Acácio Baptista during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 73rd match minute, Diversus F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Acácio Baptista to maneuver through the defense. Calcoene's Maurinho Lago got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hamílton Vander came out of the goal in the 77th minute to try and stop a shot by Calcoene's Maurinho Lago. But to his dismay, Maurinho Lago quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After a defensive mix-up in Calcoene's zone, Alfredinho de Barros stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dorival Novaes came out of the goal and Alfredinho de Barros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vitório Varela struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Dorival Novaes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Diversus F.C.. Alfredinho de Barros succeeded in the game's 84th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-1. Vitório Varela fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dorival Novaes having to interfere. When the match clock showed 92 minutes, the score became 2-2 when Maurinho Lago sped through Diversus F.C.'s defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Hamílton Vander. Hamílton Vander was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Antônio Meirelles showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-3 in the 96 minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Calcoene walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
